Best Beaches in Trogir, Okrug & Čiovo (2026 Guide)
7 July 2026 · 7 min read
Trogir’s old town is stone, but the coast around it is full of beaches. Here are the best — from lively Okrug and family-friendly Pantan to the quiet coves of Čiovo.
Key takeaways
- •Okrug Gornji’s “Copacabana” is the longest, liveliest beach near Trogir.
- •Medena in Seget is a big resort beach, handy for families and campsites.
- •Pantan, just east of town, pairs a beach with a peaceful nature reserve.
- •Čiovo island hides quieter coves like Slatine and Okrug Donji.
- •Most beaches are pebble or rock with clear water — bring water shoes.
Short answer: the best beaches near Trogir are Okrug’s long “Copacabana” strip, the family-friendly Medena and Pantan, and the quiet coves of Čiovo island. Trogir’s old town is all marble, so here is where locals and visitors actually swim.
Okrug Gornji — “Copacabana” (Big Beach)
Just across the bridge on Čiovo, Okrug Gornji’s Big Beach — nicknamed Copacabana — is a roughly two-kilometre pebble stretch lined with bars, sun loungers and watersports. It is the liveliest beach near Trogir and the natural choice if you are staying in Okrug. We cover it in detail in the Copacabana beach guide.
Medena — the resort beach in Seget
West of town in Seget, the long Medena beach serves the resort and nearby campsites. It is pebble and concrete with shallow entry, plenty of facilities and shade — an easy, well-equipped choice for families.
Pantan — beach plus nature
Just east of Trogir, Pantan combines a pebble beach with a protected wetland reserve where a freshwater river meets the sea. It is calmer and greener than the resort beaches — good for a quieter swim and a short walk.
Čiovo island — the quieter coves
Follow the island of Čiovo away from the bridge and the crowds thin out. Okrug Donji and the string of coves around Slatine offer clear water, pine shade and a more laid-back feel — perfect for escaping the peak-summer buzz. See the full guide to Čiovo’s beaches.
The best “beach” of all: the Blue Lagoon by boat
Here is the honest version: the beaches above are good, but the clearest water near Trogir is not reachable on foot. The Blue Lagoon sits in the shallows between Drvenik Veli and the islet of Krknjaši, about half an hour out by speedboat. It is shallow, bright turquoise and calm — the swim everyone photographs — and there is no road to it.
Two ways to get there. The Blue Lagoon half-day tour is the quick one: about 5 hours, €60, roughly an hour and 45 minutes anchored in the lagoon itself, plus Maslinica on Šolta and a second swim at Branač Bay. Morning or afternoon, maximum 12 guests. It slots around a beach day rather than replacing it.
The Three Island Tour is the full day — €60 as well, 7.5 hours, with breakfast and a grilled lunch cooked on board. Children under 5 go free and 5–12 pay €30, so for a family it often costs less than a day of beach bars. It picks up in Trogir, Okrug and at Medena, which is handy if you are already staying near one of the beaches above.
Travelling as a group, or want the day on your own schedule? A private boat tour from Trogir gives you the whole boat and a skipper from €500 — split between six or eight people that lands close to the per-person tour price, with no fixed timetable.
Beach or boat — which is right for your day?
- Short on time or on a budget: Okrug’s Copacabana or Medena. Free, ten minutes away, everything you need on site.
- Travelling with small children: Medena or Pantan for shallow entry, or the Three Island Tour if you want a whole day sorted with food included.
- You came for the water: the Blue Lagoon half-day. Nothing you can walk to comes close for clarity.
- A group, a birthday, or you want the day your way: a private charter.
