Sunset Boat Trips from Trogir: What Actually Runs and How to Book One

We do not run a scheduled sunset cruise, and we are not going to pretend an afternoon tour is one. The honest sunset option from Trogir is a private charter from 15:00 to 20:00, and this is how it works.

Short answer: we do not sell a scheduled sunset cruise from Trogir, and this page is not going to pretend otherwise. What we do have is an afternoon private charter slot that runs from 15:00 to 20:00, which in July and August means cruising home along the coast in the best light of the day, with the sun setting around 20:15 to 20:30 just after you step off. If a sunset on the water is what you are after, that slot is the honest way to get it, and here is how it works.

Why there is no scheduled sunset departure

A scheduled group sunset cruise needs a boatload of separate bookings every single evening to make sense. Rather than advertise an evening departure we could not run reliably all season, we put our boats into private afternoon charters instead. It is a smaller promise, honestly kept: your own boat, your own skipper, and an afternoon that ends at the golden hour rather than a timetable that may or may not fill.

When the sun actually sets in Trogir

Through July and August the sun goes down between roughly 20:15 and 20:30. Both of our afternoon charter slots run from 15:00 to 20:00, so you are on the water for the whole slide of the light: the harsh glare gone by six, the long golden hour after seven, and the riva coming back into view as the sun drops towards the horizon. Whether you watch the sunset itself from the deck or from the quay a few minutes after stepping off depends on the day and your skipper's timing, and we would rather tell you that plainly than sell you a photo we cannot guarantee.

The sunset option: the private half-day afternoon

The Private Half-Day Escape in its afternoon slot, 15:00 to 20:00, is what we point people to when they ask for a sunset trip. It is your own speedboat and a licensed local skipper for up to 12 guests, from €680 per boat. The usual loop takes in the Blue Lagoon, the stone harbour of Maslinica on Šolta and a quieter swim at Labadusa bay, but the route is flexible: tell the skipper the sunset matters and the day gets built backwards from the light. Fuel, harbour fees, snorkelling gear, towels and drinking water are included, and because the price is per boat, six of you are paying a little over €110 each for a private evening on the Adriatic.

Sun, Swim & Mojitos: the smaller, cheaper version

For groups of up to eight, Sun, Swim & Mojitos does the same afternoon, 15:00 to 20:00, for €500 per boat. You pick any three of five stops: the Blue Lagoon with its floating mojito bar, the Borkko beach bar, Maslinica village, the wide bay of Vela Rina on Drvenik Veli, or the quiet Solinska bay. A mojito at anchor as the light goes long is about as close to a purpose-built sunset cruise as this coast honestly gets. A flat €100 deposit confirms the date and the balance is paid on the day.

How the afternoon actually unfolds

Every charter is flexible, so treat this as the shape of a typical evening rather than a timetable. The point of a private boat is that none of it is fixed: linger at an anchorage, skip a stop, chase the light.

• 15:00: meet your skipper on the Trogir riva and head out while the day is still hot enough to want the first swim.
• Mid-afternoon: the long stops. The Blue Lagoon or your chosen bays, with the day boats already starting to head home.
• From about 18:00: the light turns. This is when Maslinica's stone harbour or a quiet cove earns its place on the route.
• 19:00 onwards: the slow cruise home along the coast, which is the part people remember.
• 20:00: back at the riva, with the sun reaching the horizon shortly after.

Proposals, birthdays and other days that matter

A fair share of our afternoon charters carry a ring in someone's pocket. If that is you, say so in the booking request. It changes nothing about the price and everything about the planning: the skipper will time the last stop for the light, find water with nobody else in it, and manage to be invisible at the right moment. The same goes for birthdays and anniversaries: the more we know, the better the evening lands. What we will not do is promise a cloudless sky, because nobody can, and you deserve an operator who says so before taking a deposit.

What about the regular group tours?

Worth addressing, because it is the obvious question: the afternoon departure of our group Blue Lagoon half day runs from 14:30 to 19:30, and in July that means it is back at the dock well before the sun goes down. It is a lovely afternoon on the water and honest value, but it is not a sunset trip, and we will not rename it one. If the sunset is the point, book the private afternoon; if a long swim in warm light is the point, the group afternoon does that for a per-person price instead of a whole boat.

How booking a sunset charter works

• Send a request with your date, group size and the occasion. No payment is taken up front.
• We check the boat and the skipper, then email you a secure payment link: a 25% deposit on the Half-Day Escape, a flat €100 on Sun, Swim & Mojitos.
• The balance is paid on the day, and cancellation is free up to 48 hours before departure.
• Charters operate May to October, weather depending.
