How to Book a Boat Tour from Trogir: Deposits, Payment, Changes and Cancellations
24 August 2026 · 6 min read
You do not pay the full price to book. Here is exactly what the deposit covers, when the balance is due, how late you can still book a spot, and what happens if your plans change.
Key takeaways
- •You never pay the full price to hold a spot. Group tours take a small per-guest deposit online; the rest is paid on the day, in cash or by card.
- •The Blue Cave tour is the one exception and is paid in full at booking, because it is a small-group, weather-dependent trip.
- •Full-day tours can be cancelled free up to 48 hours before departure; half-day tours up to 24 hours. After that, or if you do not show up, the deposit is not refundable.
- •The Three Island Tour and the Blue Lagoon half day can be paid and confirmed instantly on the website. Everything else is a request first, confirmed by email once we check availability.
- •A date that still shows as bookable on the site is genuinely open. If it is full or closed, the calendar will not let you request it.
- •Prices are quoted in euros and are per person for tours, per day for boat rentals.
Booking a tour here does not mean paying for the whole day up front. It means paying a small deposit to hold your place, and settling the rest when you actually board. This is what that looks like in practice, tour by tour.
What the deposit actually is
Each tour has its own flat deposit per person rather than a percentage, so you know the exact number before you start typing card details. On the Three Island Tour it is €15 per adult and €10 per child. On the Blue Lagoon half day it is the same, €15 and €10. On the Krka Waterfalls day trip it is €15 for an adult and €10 for everyone else on the ticket. That deposit is what confirms the booking. The balance is paid to the skipper or the driver on the day, cash or card.
The Blue Cave tour works differently: it is paid in full at booking, not deposited. It is a small group on a fast boat with a route that depends on the sea being calm, and a partial payment on a trip that weather can reshape at short notice has caused more confusion than it solves.
Can I book and pay instantly, or does someone have to confirm first?
Two tours pay instantly on the website: the Three Island Tour and the Blue Lagoon half day. You pick a date, the page shows you real availability, and the card form opens the moment you confirm. Nobody has to check anything by hand, because the site already knows the seats are there.
Everything else, the Blue Cave, Krka, private charters and boat rentals, is a request first. You submit your dates, we check the calendar, and you get an email with a secure payment link, usually within a couple of hours during the season. Nothing is charged until you pay that link.
Can I pay cash, or does it have to be a card?
The deposit that confirms your booking is always paid online by card, since that is what actually holds the spot. The balance on the day is flexible: cash or card, whichever you have on you. Nobody is turned away for not carrying euros, and nobody is required to.
How late can I book?
For the two instant-pay tours, as late as there is a seat left and the departure has not already left for the day; the site will not offer a time slot once it has gone. For everything that goes through a request, book as early as you comfortably can. We answer requests quickly, but a reply still takes time the site cannot compress, and a request sent an hour before departure may simply arrive too late for anyone to act on it.
Changing your date, or the number of guests
Contact us and we will do what we can, subject to availability on the new date. This is easiest with plenty of notice and hardest the day before, for the same reason a late booking is hard: somebody has to physically be able to say yes before the boat leaves.
Cancelling
- Full-day tours (Three Island, Blue Cave, Krka): free cancellation up to 48 hours before departure.
- Half-day tours (Blue Lagoon): free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.
- Cancelling later than that, or not showing up at the meeting point, is generally not refundable. This is the same rule that lets us keep prices flat rather than build a cushion into every booking for late cancellations.
- If the weather forces us to cancel, that is different: you get a full refund of what you paid us, or another day if you prefer.
Groups, children and prices
Prices are per person, shown on each tour page with the child rate next to the adult one. For a party larger than the group size shown on a tour page, or for an exclusive boat, the private charter pages are usually the better fit: you get the whole boat rather than sharing seats. For anything unusual, a big group, a special occasion, contact us directly and we will work it out with you.
